True Temper Dynamic Golf 105 Iron Shaft Review

True Temper Dynamic Gold 105 Golf Shaft Review

DG105 ImageAs with the Dynamic Gold 120, True Temper has again responded to the trend for lighter iron shafts with a redesign of the Dynamic Gold. The Dynamic Gold 105 is around 105 grams uncut. When cut it will be in the 100 gram range. The R and S are ever so slightly lighter. In my experience, 105 grams is the fitting sweet spot for the recreational golfer. It is good to see the more companies developing products in this range.

How does this shaft compare with the Modus 105 ?

    • I looked at that very question today with a fitting client. They are generally stiffer and especially so in the tips.

I have tested both DG 105 S300 and Modus 105 Stiff. I play the Modus 105. The shafts are very similar in performance for me. I could have happily played either but went with the Modus due to their smoother feel at impact.

I’m far from an expert reading EI profiles, I believe these shafts are very close on all measurements until the butt section where the DG 105 is softer than the Modus 105.
