There have been a number of ultra light driver shafts in 2024. I attribute this to the autoFlex original ultralight shaft. It is a uniquely light weight shaft that was popular in Asia. When released in the US it got the attention of many, including a few tour players. I have not found many US players that swing as slow or as smooth as a light weight soft shaft requires. That fact is echoed in the 2025 release of the a heavier stiffer model line from Korean Hidden Technology for the North American golfer. I will soon get to measure both the AutoFlex and AutoPower shafts.

The Graphite Design ultra light weight Anti-Gravity aG33-3 is a few grams lighter than the now discontinued Chichibu reviewed in 2018. The Anti-Gravity is made with the latest TORAYCA M40X carbon fiber. It is a few grams lighter and slightly firmer in the mid and butt section than the earlier Chichibu.

The Tensei AV Series has been updated to AV2. AV2 is the designation on the shaft label which you will not be able to see if there is a grip on the shaft. But, there is a unique label over the weave that will tell you this is the updated version of the Aluminum Vapor Weave.

There are a few versions of the TENSEI Orange driver shaft. Unlike the recent AV2 versions of the TENSEI Blue and TENSEI White, the Orange did not have the AV2 Butt label or the AV logo on the shafts.

The Kai’li Blue is a profile match to the Diamana PD with a few caveats. Most important to most golfers, it is offered as a no upcharge choice in TaylorMade drivers. The Diamana PD retails for $360.

The Kai’li name is reborn on a Mitsubishi driver shafts. It was used on the second generation Diamana Blue. To remove confusion Mitsubishi has added the name White to this shaft. And it is a White Board Profile.
