I am often asked for reviews of the shafts that are stock shafts in off the rack drivers. This is a quick review of the measurements of some of the 2024 Ping fitting cart shafts. The heavier Alta CB shafts are similar to the Tour 2.0. The lighter Alta CB and the Quick are different shaft profiles.

The True Temper Project X LS released in 2020 has the look of the original Royal Precision Project X, it is stepless and it has a brushed finish. This is the first steel shaft I can recall from TrueTemper with a brushed finish. Unlike chrome, a brushed finish is matte, dispersing reflections. it is a great looking shaft made to very high quality and consistency standards. Lets take a close look at it and compare the LS version to the Project X.

The LA Golf team is made up of industry shaft engineering veterans with long track records of successful designs. The TourAXS series is an interesting collection of time proven traditional designs in a weight and stiffness range suitable for the recreational golfer. LAGolf Shafts is taking a new approach to the golf shaft business. Professional Golf playing partners participate in the design of their golf shafts. LAGolf is committed to being a different shaft company. The shafts will be designed in with playing partners and made in the USA. The LAGolf Olyss profile was what I had expected. It is labeled as John Oldenburg Signature Series. John was the head of design at Aldila. The Green paint fill on LA tells the story, lets look at the profile.

VA Composites was created in 2017 by Victor Afable. Victor has been in the golf business over 35 years. Much of it with golf shaft companies. He is now the owner of VA Composites and responsible for the design of VA Composite shafts. His past designs have over 100 tour wins including a major.

The Nemesys uses Torayca T1100 Carbon Fiber in the tip section. This is the material used in a great many premium shafts.
