The MCA Diamana is an iconic brand. The premium aftermarket shafts have been in my fitting system for as long as I can remember. The MCA profiles make my job easy. White, neutral mid, Blue soft mid, Tensei iK firm mid. It is a rational and repeatable process to find the fit and feel with that matrix. Unfortunately, the OEM Diamana S+ does not have a close profile match to the 5th generation premium aftermarket shafts. Nor does it have the upcharge price of the premium Diamana shafts.

The Mitsubishi MMT Model Golf Shaft is available for Hybrid, Iron, Wedge and Putter. This review will focus on the hybrid shafts. We have seen carbon fiber shafts with outer wraps of stainless steel wire, here we have a shaft with an inner wrap. The Metal mesh technology is only in the tip of the shaft. This is not the first time Mitsubishi has integrated metal into their shaft prepreg. I have fond memories of the TINI wire used in the KuroKage shafts. Mitsubishi tells us the metal mesh added weight without having to add material which would have change the balance of the shafts. And like the TINI wire, the mesh adds a responsive straighten to the shaft.
